How was RIIMICO born?

RIIMICO, was born as an initiative of a group of researchers from the Multidisciplinary Center for Technological Research of the National University of Asunción (CEMIT-UNA) in Paraguay who have been working in association with researchers from different Ibero-American countries for several years in different areas of the mycology with the idea of expanding and strengthening the network of contacts in their different countries and improving the visibility of the work carried out. By creating links that promote the collaborative work of Ibero-American researchers and the exchange of knowledge, research in the area of Mycology in general will be enriched and strengthened. As an added value, we can highlight the strong working relationship between the researchers who have proposed the initiative to form RIIMICO and their desire to formalize and expand contacts for the benefit of the growth of the science of mycology.

Why did we create RIIMICO?

Due to the existence of a gap in reference to the study, knowledge transfer and education in mycology by researchers who work on different approaches in this discipline, therefore, there is an urgent need for a network that supports and coordinates actions between Institutions and Researchers from different Ibero-American countries and to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, technology and efforts that help to assess, understand the importance and social impact of the study of mycology.
